Seriously now, I've been surfing the internet, looking at art, artist profiles, communities, co-operative galleries, up and comers and the established folk. They all remind me of a bunch of hipsters stroking themselves in public to bask in the glow from there many adoring fans, mostly other art hipsters like themselves that can afford to buy $36 screen printed t-shirts. There's a whole lot of blahblah blah about social consciousness and the environment which gets drowned out by the force of all this artist crying out LOOK AT ME I AM SOOOO ORIGINAL. And the thing is, I haven't seen a damned original thing. I have noticed a predominant retro aesthetic polluting every form of media, these original trendsetter apparently never heard of the 80s enough to know it's all been done before goddamnit! Recycled garbage from days gone by and not a god-damned thing to wow and amaze from today's so-called talented and artistic youth.

It's JAM PACKED full of artists featured in UBER trendy Juxtapose magazine, look at their profiles and admire their laid-back attitude horned rimmed glasses and casual demeanour. I blame this all on Andy Warhol for creating the notion that pop art is legitimate amongst the general public. He moved from a position in advertising to art because he figured out there's money in bullshit and why the hell work for someon else selling their wares when you can create your own personal brand of cool. People fell for it lock stock and barrel and flocked to his little warehouse in New York where he took full advantage of their poverty, drug addiction and admiration. Part of the man's genius, eveil genius, is that most of the art he created wasn't actually produced by him. Why do you think it was called the factory anyway.
Yeah, Andy fucking Warhol is totally responsible for the hipster invasion amongst us by getting the whole ball rolling on art exploitation and the pursuit of money over beauty began and spread like a virus amongst would-be artists.... oh hell, musicians too.

He never gave a shit about art, his art was creating a sensation, he pissed on art - and literally, PISSED ON IT.
He liked controversy, attention, drugs, popularity... but fuck at least he was original. Think rich, look poor.... AHHHH Now I understand the mentality behind $40 artist made t-shirts and the fake ray-ban sunglassses astounding comeback.

Same old story. Put your music player on shuffle, press forward for each question and use the song title as the answer. I shall tag anyone who reads this. All three of you. Ha!
